News Announcement
    Congratulations to Joy Zheng for winning Gold Medal at China Girls Math Olympiad 2010! This is the 3rd year Joy has participated in this international level math competition and Joy has done a great job representing USA in all 3 years! Congratulations, Joy! 
 
Class Announcement 
August 21, 2010: Joy Zheng will be in town to give a talk about her experience at China Girls Math Olympiad. Additional problems from various math competitions will be discussed at the meeting.

March 20, 2010
Congratulations to winners in MathCounts State competition! Darryl Wu, Kevin Yang, Kevin Liu, and Kolya Malkin will form the Washington State team to compete in MathCounts National this year.
 
In addition, Joy Zheng gave a speech about SIMC and Albert Chu gave a speech about his MathCounts experience.

March 2010
Please welcome several new members to the SIMC leadership! We have Emily Zhang, Kathleen Zhou, and Kevin Liu joining the Student Leader Group and Min Liu joining the Adivsory Committee.

Also, please keep an eye out--information regarding meetings about the rest of this school year will be posted shortly.

Finally, SIMC will be handing out prizes again at MathCounts State on March 20!

August 26 & 27, 2009

Joy Zheng will host two AMC classes. The first day (8/26) will focus on AMC 10/12-level materials, while the second day (8/27) will focus on AIME to easy USAMO level questions.

August 23, 2009
Albert Chu will host a Mathcounts Countdown class. The goal of this 2-hour session is to improve performance in Mathcounts countdown. Albert is the state champion in Washington State Mathcounts competition this year, where he entered the countdown round as 10th place and moved up to 1st pace after 9 rounds of highly competitive duels (with 30+ questions). In the class, Albert will discuss the skills he used in Mathcounts countdown, including smart calculation, pattern recognition, and tips to buzz.
